Welcome to spring 2023 and the carp at Woodsetts have started to wake up after their winter sulk. In the last few weeks there have been several good carp caught from all over the lake, including a 31lb mirror for syndicate member Antony Tyers, who also banked another four fish in a day only session. Antony’s fishing pal Shaun Brooks has also been in on the action and has banked a carp called Domino at 27lb, plus a few others while fishing a 24hr session.
Another month and the tench will be in full swing along with big nets of bream for those that like a bit of feeder fishing or roach for the pole angler.. The pike winter ticket expires at the end of March and anglers are not permitted to fish for them again until October 1st.
In the past couple of months much work has been carried out around the fishery, with swim maintenance and cutting back overgrown trees in preparation for the new season ahead.
We get a few calls each year regarding the fishing available at Woodsetts. Apart from the yearly syndicate ticket, Woodsettst can be fished on a day ticket or an overnight guest ticket. The Woodsetts year runs from June 1st until the end of the following May and several ticket options are available for both carp and coarse.
